I learned to love food long before I ever stepped into a professional kitchen.
Growing up between Cuba, Greek and Lebanese family tables, food wasn’t a career, it was home, memory, comfort, and connection. The sound of rice simmering, the smell of roast, the laughter around plates passed from hand to hand, that’s what made me fall in love with cooking first.
Today, I still cook with skill… but I lead with care.
I trained hard, I worked hard, and I earned every ticket in every kitchen I’ve stepped into, but the work that matters most isn’t technique. It’s the way a simple dish can make someone feel understood, safe, and seen.
Food taught me empathy before it taught me precision.
Food taught me human stories before it taught me plating.
That’s the heart of what I do now.
I share:
• Recipes that feel like home, not intimidation
• Techniques that help you cook confidently, not perfectly
• Stories that connect food to lived experience
• Conversations that make people remember why food matters beyond flavor
Whether you’re here to learn a new dish, walk down memory lane, or feel a little seen through food , you belong here.
I’m Chef Rick.
I cook with skill.
I cook with care.
And I hope you feel like you’re at the table, not just watching from the sidelines.
